Microneedling

A minimally invasive treatment that uses your skin’s own healing response to build collagen and elastin – the proteins that keep skin firm and smooth.

What is microneedling?

Thin needles are used to make tiny holes in the top layer of your skin. That controlled damage stimulates your skin’s healing process, so it produces more collagen and elastin – the proteins that keep skin firm and smooth.

Most people have microneedling on the face, but it can also be done on the legs, back, neck or other areas where you notice damaged or ageing skin. You’ll probably need multiple treatments to achieve the result you’re after.

Why it’s done

Microneedling has both cosmetic and medical uses. You might consider it if you’re concerned about:

  • Enlarged pores
  • Fine lines or wrinkles
  • Loose, thin or wrinkled skin
  • Mild scars, especially from acne or burns
  • Skin discolouration or uneven tone
  • Stretch marks
